Abstract:

Throughout the bodies of water in the world, offshore platforms have been installed to support many functions offshore. Offshore platforms house workers, support drilling rigs, produce hydrocarbons, support wind turbines, provide docking and offloading for tankers, provide security, and other functions.

To install these structures, massive floating heavy lift vessels work around the world to make these installations feasible and economical. This presentation will highlight the equipment and methods used to transport and install large offshore platforms.
