Topic: Structural Modeling: An Essential Skill for Engineers
Summary: Learning how to properly model in structural software can save you both time and money. This presentation will cover the common pitfalls of structural modeling and will include important tips to keep in mind when building models. Also covered will be rules of thumb for FEA plate modeling, as well as methods of integrating/coordinating a structural model between multiple software applications. Expect to learn the best practices to improve the speed and accuracy of your structural designs.
Presenter: Candice Cobb, Technical Marketing Engineer, RISA Technologies
Candice Cobb is an Atlanta, GA native. She holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in both Architecture and Structural Engineering from Georgia Tech. She currently works as the Technical Marketing Engineer at RISA Technologies. Prior to her work with the software company, Candice worked as an structural engineer for 5 years. During that time, she worked on multi-family housing, educational buildings, and adaptive re-use. She has also worked in Architecture, General Contracting, and Structural Engineering.
