Dear Members:
The next meeting of the SEAoT San Antonio Chapter will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024. We will be hosting our meeting at Old San Francisco Steak House.
Topic: URETEK Deep Injection Ground Modification
The presentation describes how structural polymer (High Density Polyurethane Polymer – HDPP) injected in situ can modify the injected soil (base, through subgrade level) to increase strength and densify the soil. It will address URETEK’s history of pioneering the polymer and process, Polymer grouting application, Method/poly-jacking, Deep Injection process, Testing, Case Studies (where used), and Questions.
There will be a drawing for several door prizes.
Presenter: Craig J. Bishop, Director of Federal & Defense Programs
Craig graduated from Texas A&M University and was commissioned in the U.S. Army. He is the Director of Federal & Defense Projects for URETEK USA, introducing these entities to the potential and capabilities of in situ polymer injection. With over 20 years in Special Forces assignments, he is adept at searching for and incorporating “out of the box” solutions. While at the Pentagon, in the Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) section, Craig worked with URETEK USA and recognized their “unconventional” potential. Returning to Houston in 2017, he joined URETEK. He successfully added structural polymer use to the Defense United Facilities Criteria (UFC) guides for pavement and air field repairs and has performed site visits at over 200 installations. He has a BS, MA, MBA, & Ph.D. as well as being Program Management, Six Sigma, and FEMA Level 400 certified.
Presenter: Rex Klentzman, PE, Vice President of Engineering
Rex Klentzman Graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 with a BS Degree in Civil Engineering. He is the Vice President of Engineering for URETEK USA and in that role he provides engineering support on polymer grouting projects across the nation. Rex is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and also coordinates with local engineers regarding URETEK projects. He started in the polymer grouting industry in the late 90’s as an instillation technician while attending Texas A&M and returned to Uretek in 2014 to lead the engineering team. His experience and understanding of the Uretek ground improvement process puts him at the forefront of the industry.
