The next meeting of the SEAoT San Antonio Chapter will be held on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024. We will be hosting our meeting at Old San Francisco Steak House.
Topic: Do's and Don'ts: Best Practices for specifying Steel Joists and Steel Deck
This presentation is based on a career of engineering, selling, and collaborating with structural engineers, steel fabricators, erectors, and general contractors along with other joist and deck engineers. Issues with specifying, detailing, designing, and avoiding or mitigating jobsite issues will be discussed. Come with your questions, complaints, or your wish list regarding steel joist and steel deck.
Presenter: Dave Henley, Vulcraft
Dave Henley is a Product Manager for the Vulcraft/Verco Group of Nucor. He previously held positions of sales engineer at Vulcraft – Nebraska and District Manager for the Colorado, Wyoming and Montana markets. He has served on the board of directors of the SEA of Colorado and is currently a member of the Rocky Mountain Steel Construction Association board of directors. Dave received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and is a professional engineer registered in Colorado and Nebraska. In his current role he works with structural engineers, architects and other specifiers, and mentors other Vulcraft engineers to do the same. He also provides assistance to the Innovation Group of Vulcraft / Verco which develops new products and design tools available on Vulcraft.com.
