Bio:
Mr. Rudolph Frizzi received his BSCE from The Ohio State University and his MSCE from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He spent three years as an engineering intern with the Ohio Department of Transportation and the US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Engineering Research Laboratory before joining LANGAN in 1987. He progressed through the firm from staff engineer to his current position as Managing Principal responsible for review and interaction with geotechnical, civil, and environmental project personnel across LANGAN’s over 40 offices and more than 1,800 staff across the United States and Internationally. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in 20 states including Texas, a licensed Geotechnical Engineer in California, a Board-Certified Geotechnical Engineer, and an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. Mr. Frizzi is a past-President and Trustee of the Deep Foundations Institute and is currently the Chair of the Deep Foundations Institute’s Educational Trust. Mr. Frizzi Chaired ACI Committee 336 when ACI SPEC-336.1-24 was updated and continues as a Committee voting member. Mr. Frizzi is also a voting member of ACI Committee 543 (Concrete Piles) and ACI 318-31 Subcommittee E (Section and Member Strength).
Presentation Description:
This presentation provides an overview of updates made to ACI SPEC-336.1 Construction of Drilled Piers - Specification. This is the first update to the Specification in over twenty years. The presentation also provides guidance to the specifier in referencing and customizing the specification to project-specific requirements.
