Abstract:
This presentation provides an in-depth look at recent technical developments within the fischer Group’s fastening and structural reinforcement systems. Topics will include the evolution of mechanical and adhesive anchor technologies, updates to fischer’s fastener and product portfolio, and a demonstration of the C-FIX Anchor Software utilizing the spring model approach for more precise load-distribution analysis. The session will also explore the use of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) systems for structural strengthening and see real-world project case studies that demonstrate practical applications and value-added engineering support.
Bio:

Mr. Gustavo Arango is a Civil Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the fastening systems industry. He currently serves as Engineering Manager and Technical Sales Lead for fischer fixings, focusing primarily on projects across Texas.
Throughout his career, Gustavo has held leadership and technical roles across major global firms, including 13 years with Hilti as Business Development Manager, Engineering Director, and Strategic Business Director. His work has spanned key sectors such as EPC, power generation, oil and gas, and wastewater infrastructure. He has also served as Business Development and Engineering Director for multiple countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Senior Field Engineer in Southern California and Hawaii, and spent seven years with DeWalt as Field Engineer for Texas and the Central U.S., later managing Business Development and Engineering for Latin America.
Driven by a passion for education and technical excellence, Gustavo has dedicated much of his career to delivering technical fastening presentations and helping engineers and contractors identify optimal fastening solutions for complex applications in both design offices and field environments.
